Angelbert Metoyer in Group Show Sponsored by Paper Magazine

The 10th anniversary of PAPERMAG.com is the inspiration behind Manhattan!, a multi-media and multilaterally creative month-long blowout featuring a group exhibition of works by over 70 New York City-based artists. Manhattan! is both a reaction to and a celebration of our artistic surroundings. The show was born of a desire to democratize the community, level the playing field and put all kinds of art in one room - cheap art next to expensive art, young art next to old art, street art next to high art - to enjoy the incongruity, diversity and the surprises so characteristic of downtown New York. The result is a panoramic view of the city's art scene from its Factory days to the present, featuring a wide variety of subcultures - psychedelia, disco, no-wave, punk rock, skateboard, graffiti, comic, goth, hip-hop, gay and academia.The show is curated by Carol Lee, the creative director of PAPERMAG.com, and hosted by PAPERMAG.com, Spencer Sweeney, Ronald T. Castellano, Larry Golden and Andrew WK at 100 Lafayette, a bi-level space soon to become an essential gathering place for music and art in lower Manhattan. In addition to the exhibit, the art works will be featured online at PAPERMAG.com.
